This idea came from the aether; it emerged over time. Several years ago (2012) while exploring his passion for black and white photography he found himself wandering into a look he calls ‘Gotham’.

Everything was shot on a Canon 6D and 5DMK III with a variety of Canon L series lenses. For my motion controlled shots, I use an eMotimo 3-Axis system as well as a Kessler Shuttle Pod Mini 8 foot dolly.

"I have a passion for timelapse as well, so it wasn’t long before the two processes started to merge in my mind, and the concept for Gotham City SF was born! Over the intervening years I have collected and edited this footage while juggling my freelance career and time working at Lytro (a new camera technology)."

Toby Harriman is a photographer and adventure seeker based in San Francisco, California. He studies Web Design at the Academy of Art University and will soon be graduating with an AA. When he got to SF in 2009 he discovered a passion for photography. When he’s not behind his screen he is behind the lens shooting. His work has earned him clients, recognition and interviews from Coors Light, Red Bull, Universal Music, Adobe, Behance, CNBC, GoPro, Plus One Magazine, Digital Photo Magazine and many more. Born in Colorado, he grew up with a love for the mountains and being active all the time. Whether he was skiing, playing hockey or playing a round of golf, he was always out and about.  In 2006 Toby left Aspen to go to boarding school in New Hampshire. From there he quickly new he wanted to attend art school for college and that’s when he ended up in San Francisco.

Now after a few years of Web Design he has realized his true passion is photography. So instead of pursuing a BFA he will be getting out early with an AA so he can drive around the country timelapsing and taking on photography full time. While he plans on mainly specializing in photography he also founded Planet Unicorn Collective in 2014, a collective of young artists and marketing professionals who have united their skill sets under one entity to form a cutting edge content marketing firm.
