You have until January 31 to register for the 2015 Lamp Awards. Light is a fundamental element of life and a key aspect of any architectural project. Prizes will be awarded to projects that have successfully met the architectural lighting needs of an indoor or outdoor space, having created a positive synergy between architecture, interior design, landscaping and lighting. The Lamp Lighting Solutions Awards value the creativity, innovation and sustainability of lighting projects, regardless of the manufacturer or the brand of lights used in the project.

CATEGORIES

1. ARCHITECTURAL OUTDOOR LIGHTING: lighting projects for outdoor illumination such as: facades, sport facilities, monuments, canopies, etc.
2. INDOOR LIGHTING: lighting projects for indoor illumination such as: shops, restaurants, museums, exhibition halls, single buildings, offices, etc.
3. URBAN AND LANDSCAPE LIGHTING: lighting projects for urban illumination such as: squares, roundabouts, avenues, streets, parks, bridges, etc.
4. STUDENTS PROPOSALS: this year's theme is "Light and darkness"; lighting projects, both indoor and outdoor, in which not only light but also shadow and darkness play a key role in defining form and space, revealing the surface and texture and in creating ambience and character: urban areas, landscapes, cathedrals, churches, transport interchanges, airports, hotels, shops, restaurants, etc. Only idea-based projects will be accepted.

*Bear in mind that the projects must incorporate innovation and sustainability elements in all categories.
**Only daylight based projects, entertainment lighting projects, and luminaire design will not be accepted.

 

2013 LAMP AWARD for ARCHITECTURAL OUTDOOR LIGHTING to THE ROOKERY, in Chicago, by Office for Visual Interaction (OVI)

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Any lighting designers, architects, urban planners, interior designers, engineers, landscapers or students who are authors of a lighting project. There are no restrictions on age, nationality or place of residence.

*Lighting distribution companies are not allowed to participate.
**Projects submitted in previous Lamp Lighting Solutions Awards will not be accepted.

REQUIREMENTS

We accept all types of architectural lighting projects whose building works have been finished between 01.01.13 and 31.12.14; regardless of the manufacturer or the brand of lights used in the project. Each contestant can participate in all the categories, with a maximum of 2 projects per category.

REGISTRATION AND SUBMITTAL

Contestants must submit their projects, prior registration, between 15.09.14 and 31.01.15. The registration for the awards and the submitting of necessary documents required for participation can only be made on line at www.lamp.es according to the following process:

  1. Register as a contestant on www.lamp.es/en/prizes/join filling out the "Contestant Data" form.
  2. Register a project, select the category in which you want to participate, complete the "Project Data" form and attach a pdf of the project on 1 horizontally read DIN A3 sheet, that includes the datasheet* (5MB max.). This pdf must not indicate the authorship. The jury will take into consideration if contestants accompany the sheet submittal with a video in FLV format (max. 1minute/10 MB). After submitting the project, it will be saved in "My Registered Projects".
  3. Repeat the process if you want to submitt more projects (max. 2 projects/category).

**The program allows you to save, modify, add and/or delete content of the projects until 31.01.15. All content saved at the time of closing entries will be considered project confirmed to compete.

2013 LAMP AWARD for URBAN AND LANDSCAPE LIGHTING to GARDENS BY THE BAY, MARINA SOUTH, in Singapore

SELECTION PROCESS

1st PHASE - SELECTED: in final February the jury will select approximately 20 projects per category which will pass on to the following phase. The selected projects will be announced on Lamp Lighting Solutions Awards Facebook.
LAMP will contact those selected by email in order for them to send, within a period of 10 days, the Lighting Project. This must include graphic and written information which allows to assess the objectives
it pursues and shows the specific lighting solutions adopted in terms of light sources, lighting units and control systems. This must be submitted in printed form (not digital), DIN A3 or DIN A4, at LAMP HQ in Terrassa (Barcelona) within a period of 10 days from the receipt of the email.

2nd PHASE - FINALISTS: the jury will meet in final March to decide on 4 finalist projects for each category and the 4 winners. If appropriate, the jury may consider more than 4 projects per category as finalists and give honorable mention to any project they deem worthy. The finalist projects will be announced on LAMP's website.
LAMP will contact the finalist by email in order for them to hand in all the necessary graphic material and information required for the LIGHTING CONCEPTS '15 book. This must be submitted in digital form by wetransfer.com to premios@lamp.es within a period of 10 days from the receipt of the email.

*It is mandatory for the finalist to indicate LAMP the author of the photos/videos transferred.
**LAMP is not responsible for paying copyright of photos/videos transferred.

2013 LAMP AWARD for URBAN AND LANDSCAPE LIGHTING to to COLLECTIVE LIGHT FOR RURAL AFRICA, in Mali.

PRIZE-GIVING

The jury will determine 1 winner per category with a total economic reward of 26.000€:

Architectural Outdoor Lighting Award: 8.000€
Indoor Lighting Award: 8.000€
Urban and Landscape Lighting Award: 8.000€
Students Proposals Award: 2.000€

The jury's verdict will be announced at a special evening event in Barcelona during the month of June 2015. The award cannot be declared void or granted "ex aequo".

LIFE OF LIGHT

Due to the International Year of the Light 2015 declared by UNESCO, the "Life of Light" will award a professional for a life dedicated to light. Because we know that light lovers exist, and that without them the industry could not have evolved by leaps and bounds and we want to thank them. If you are a lighting association, foundation, institution or a media, we encourage you to submit your candidates for this "Life of Light" award of merit (max. 2 candidates by association).

  1. Register as a contestant on  www.lamp.es/en/prizes/join filling out the "Contestant Data" form.
  2. Register a project, select the option "Life of Light", complete the "Candidate Data" form and attach a pdf of the project on 1 horizontally read DIN A3 sheet, that includes: an updated photo of the candidate, the logo of the association, a brief CV of the candidate (max. 200 words) and 5 brief reasons (max. 50 words/reason) why he/she deserves recognition. The sheet can include photos or graphic information and text is accepted in English, Spanish, Catalan or French (max. 5MB). After submitting the candidate data, it will be saved in "My Registered Projects".
  3. Repeat the process if you want to present more candidates (max. 2 candidates/association).

The jury will analyze the proposals and announce this recognition award at a special evening event in Barcelona during the month of June 2015.
