PIPA's SOPA or American version of Ley Sinde.

The ley Sinde seems to emerge in the U.S. with a very similar model. It would not be unusual as rebound later, if approved, would be a world referent and bounce back to rebirth in our country. As we know that a lot of our fans are also in other countries and the United States of course, we would be unfair not to echo his impact.

The law is known as PROTECT IP Act (the Senate version of SOPA, the Internet censorship bill) ot Stop Online Piracy Act (jokes in Spanish would be very easy with these acronyms) Here’s more info. Below an abstract:

"...This legislation would give the government and corporations the ability to censor the net in the name of protecting creativity simply by convincing a judge that a site is “dedicated” to copyright infringement. PIPA would give the government and corporations the ability to shut down any site connected to an accused copyright infringer. Its companion legislation in the House, the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), H.R. 3261, contains many similar problems, as well as threatening ordinary users with jail for streaming any copyrighted work - even just video of themselves singing a pop song... "

In Spain the Ley Sinde was very similar.
