"Sexy Books for All Ages". Publishing and Contemporary Art Events is a reflection on independent publishing related to contemporary art, an activity that, since the 70s and, in particular, spurred on by the advent of conceptual art, has become increasingly important. With. Damián Ortega (Alias Editorial), María Berríos (vaticanochico), Alessio Ascari (Kaleidoscope), Jaime Vallaure (Entreascuas Editores), Isidoro Valcárcel Medina, François Piron (Paraguay Press), Álex Grifeu (CRU), Javier Peñafiel, María Fusco (The Happy Hypocrite), Ferrán elOtro (Save as… Publications), Francesc Ruíz, Glòria Picazo, Mariano Mayer (Script y Rodolfo Temperley), Dora García, Javier Codesal and Julián Rodríguez (Periférica).

Today it is essential in the development stages and for the success of many artistic projects using books as a medium or as a means to an end in itself, as well as for theoretical approaches that are currently established and those in the process.  An independent editor's activities are similar to those of an exhibition curator, since he or she must set out and define work areas, write speeches and find the most appropriate format, offering  alternatives to the artist so he or she can complete their work.  An editor must create their own “audiences” setting up a system of networks to give these independent productions a larger presence.  These events, based on nine conferences and three dialogues over three consecutive days, are designed to offer a statement about the question of what it means to be an editor, distributor and even a bookseller dealing with this type of project.
