Tokyo, the Japanese capital, houses starting Monday, the twenty-fourth World Congress of Architecture, a triennial event that brings together thousands of professionals and this year a new direction for architectural able to overcome the disaster in accordance with the solidarity and sustainability.

In this two-day conference have already spoken Tadao Ando (“talking to the young / what architecture is”) and architects Kazuyo + Ryue Sejika Nishizawa / SANAA (“Environment and Architecture”), -Architects (Japan)-. Tomorrow: Fumihiko Maki. (The recipient of UIA Gold Medal and Pritzker Prize in 1993 and Japan Institute of Architecture Award in 2001.)

For today, Wednesday 28, special interventions are planned as those of:

David Adjaye, Architect (United Kingdom) David Adjaye was born in Tanzania in 1966 and studied at Royal College of Art, receiving his MA in Architecture in 1993. In 1994, he formed a partnership and reorganized into Adjaye Associates in 2000, a London-based architecture firm. His recent projects include “The Moscow School of Management Skolkovo” (Russia) and “The New National Museum of African American History and Culture for the Smithsonian Institution” in Washington, D.C., USA to be completed in 2015.

Christoph Ingenhoven, Architect (Germany) Christoph Ingenhoven was born in Germany in 1960. He studied architecture at Technical University RWTH Aachen and at the Academy of Art Düsseldorf from 1978 to 1984 and formed ingenhoven architects in 1985. Among his major works are “Lufthansa Aviation Center” (Germany), “European Investment Bank” (Luxemburg), “Breezé Tower” (Osaka, Japan), “Swarovski Headquarters” (Switzerland) and others.
