Yuri Naruse of "Naruse Inokuma architects" explain us about their chair which won a prize in the furniture design competition organized by TENDO, a japanese funiture company who’s being famous for the "butterfly stool" designed by Sori Yanagi.

With this minimal molded plywood chair, Yuri and Jun aimed to extract the presence and beauty of plywood that nobody had ever seen before.

To do this chair is very simple, only to bend one plywood sheet with adjusting curves carefully one by one. After making slender holes like stripe into the plywood sheet, the chair emerges.

When no one sit on the chair, it has the presence of a plywood sculpture. When people sit on the chair, it has the atmosphere as if plywood was bends naturally.
