A sequence of thresholds, arches, seating areas, and display zones comprises the project developed by MOME.Estudio as part of a temporary installation in a Madrid retail store. The proposal employs an almost atmospheric image: under the concept of "the sky as the limit," metallic reflections, translucent surfaces, and inflatable elements combine in a scenography where each piece modifies the perception of the whole.

Two opposing pieces structure the flow of movement and create a system capable of organizing the body and directing the gaze. The volumes function not only as supports for the products but also as stimuli that allow one to look, try, pause, or momentarily disappear. The space compresses, expands, and opens up to different forms of movement, exposure, and pause.

In the temporary installation developed by MOME.Estudio, the technical and the soft converge. The architecture oscillates between solid and void, between support and movement. Through subtle variations, the proposal invites discovery and surprise, activating an open and constantly transforming landscape.

Under the concept of "the sky as the limit" and through the repetition of elements, the installation introduces a sense of continuous movement, in which the gradation of translucent, reflective, and soft materials creates a dynamic atmosphere.

Project description by MOME.Estudio

The project creates a temporary retail environment in which, under the idea of the sky as the limit, bold forms shape a sequential journey: the space contracts, expands and opens up to different modes of movement, display and pause.

The plan is organised around two opposing elements that free up a central void, creating a non-linear route through the space.

The interior is experienced through thresholds, arches, pockets of inhabitable space and display areas that invite visitors to look, try, pause or momentarily disappear within the system. The solid volumes do not function solely as supports for the products, but as an architecture capable of organising the body and directing the gaze.

The project explores an almost atmospheric condition. References to the sky emerge through a series of variations: metallic reflections, translucent surfaces, inflatable elements and a grey-toned material palette that absorbs and reflects light. Technical and soft elements coexist within a precise scenography, in which each piece alters the perception of the whole.

The void ceases to be a neutral backdrop and becomes the place where the experience unfolds. The architecture is built through this tension between volume and air, and between display and movement.

The repetition of elements—arches, planes, reflections and inflatable surfaces—creates a sense of continuous movement, as though the space were shifting through a series of subtle variations. Under the idea of the sky as the limit, the gradation of translucent, reflective and soft materials creates an evolving atmosphere in which each element transforms the perception of the one before it.

A temporary interior that does not seek to establish a fixed or closed image, but rather to activate an open, recognisable and constantly evolving landscape.

The project is part of a pop-up developed for El Corte Inglés by the Luxury Events & Trends division of SOMOS Experiences, with architectural design by MOME.

MOME is an architecture and construction studio based in Madrid, founded in 2020 by María Elizalde, María Mancera and María Ormazabal. The studio is born from different perspectives with the same way of understanding architecture: each project is unique, tells a different story and responds to a specific context.

Its architecture is a process in which each phase is carried out with the utmost care, from the initial idea to the last detail, creating a set of elements in total harmony, thus resulting in projects in which each space is enhanced.
