The architectural studios Pereira-Royo Arquitectos and Estudio Seguí, with the collaboration of the consulting firm Garcia Dieguez, won the Project Competition promoted by the D.G. of Urban Agenda and Architecture of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA) for the Expansion of the Bretón de los Herreros Theatre in Logroño, Spain.

The concept of the proposal is based on the respect and spatial continuity of the theatre itself, developing a scenic complement with a flexible and multipurpose hall that covers the activities and cultural programs of the city of Logroño.
Pereira-Royo Arquitectos and Estudio Seguí designed a space in the form of a "corrala" that meets the demand for a wide variety of uses and the need for spatial flexibility. The scenographic areas and access lobbies are improved by merging them into a single space.

The exterior envelope is resolved with a glass "canvas" that respects both the neighboring buildings and the current presence of the theatre. On the roof there is a viewpoint, enhancing the value of the city's historic center.

Description of project by Pereira-Royo Arquitectos and Estudio Seguí

The Extension of the Bretón de los Herreros Theatre in Logroño was the subject of a Project Competition promoted by the D.G. of Urban Agenda and Architecture of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA), which was won by the teams of Architects PEREIRA-ROYO and ESTUDIO SEGUI, with the collaboration of the consultancy GARCIA DIEGUEZ in the scenographic installations. The proposal is developed as a staged complement to the Bretón de los Herreros Theatre itself to enhance its theatrical activities, with a more flexible and multi-purpose hall that allows for wider coverage of the cultural programs for the City of Logroño.

In this sense, an attractive space has been designed as a "corrala" to allow the versatility of the multiple uses that will be demanded, from experimental theatrical performances that require variable positions on its stage to avant-garde musical activities, conferences, competitions... that will make possible the spatial flexibility required for a diverse and attractive program for the city.

Its architectural conception has been based on respect and spatial continuity with the main Theatre, improving its scenographic requirements and access lobbies that merge into a single space to qualify its identification. The façade is resolved with a glass "canvas" that respects the orders of the adjoining buildings, taking advantage of its roof as an attractive view towards the city's historic center.
It could be summed up as a Multi-purpose Hall that is integrated into the main Theatre to enhance and qualify its theatrical and stage activity, respecting not only its current presence but also enhancing its urban image in the city of Logroño.
