Description of project by Experimenta Prontevedra
The Festival is a project organized by the City Council of Pontevedra coordinated and curated by Santos and Mera architects (José Santos and José Mera) and Javier Peña Ibáñez, which seeks to provoke a series of collaborative processes that link art, architecture and design to the urban environment. through the spaces of attraction that the municipality has.
Five teams participated in the edition: Diogo Aguiar Studio, CUAC Architecture, OLA Estudio, Xoan Anleo and the team formed by Luis Bernardo, Sergio Gonzalez, Felipe Langa, Enrique Mansilla and Maximiliano Martín.
1 / MISE-EN-SCÈNE. Diogo Aguiar Studio
Mise-En-Scéne is an unsuspected balloon dispenser that is supposed to be the center of action, which involves and invites transients. With a plastic skin, amorphous and inflated, the piece exposes how the balloons are removed revealing a metal structure and perforated sheet, which gives way. The transformation of an opaque and formless participatory architectural object into a set of contrasting superimposed visually permeable rigid planes, but is produced from the extraction of multiple globes of existing irficios in the structural epidermis. At the same time, given the extension of the intervention of the public space, spreading a spot of color in the city that defies the physical limits of the installation.
2 / THE WALL OF THE SEA. CUAC Architecture
the proposal makes an interpretation of the wall whose remains are buried under the street and that has been evidenced through the paving of the serra rúa. The historical evidence of the proximity of this fragment of strength on the shores of the sea puts its footprints in the inner-outer duality, the protection-deprotection, the liquid-solid state. Its proximity to the municipal market, since 1922 (which ran from the market square to the market, gaining ground to the sea), also represents an opportunity to dialogue with its supporters. The ephemeral wintering project realizes a synthesis of these multiple realities, some of them seemingly opposite, that give as a result a "fragment of a passable wall" from its interior that, in its materiality, condenses the maritime reality: a metallic structure supports multiple horizontal layers "of sea water", built with aquarium fishing nets. The undulations are established by the insertion of ice bags whose interior melts until it turns into water.
3 / WHAT IS GOING TO COME ... OLA Estudio
Architecture is a scenario. This is a recurring idea, an axiom. Architecture is the physical arm of our lives. From now on, the framework is broad, the physical coexists with the digital, with the virtual. Our relationships, our sensitivity and our daily routine not only play a single playing field. What is to come ... shows the technology that already exists and that gradually gains ground in our lives. Without realizing that science fiction becomes reality. Our data, our faces, our desires and our passions are recognized and systematized. Architecture will remain the scene, it is inevitable. Mutate, adapt and react. Each one of us has the responsibility to use, be critical and decide in a world that, as always, wants to decide for us.
4 / MODULAR. Xoan Anleo
Modular exposes a reading of the bus stops as street furniture within the transport system in the public space of the cities. Pedestrian shelter that offers signaling conditions, rest area, comfort and protection against the weather for its users. With respect to the architecture as a module with possibilities of transformation that consists of different elements that can be contacted. A meeting place to remain as a waiting retreat in which we find advertising devices that catch our attention. Modulate as a tone from one tone to another in the musical, through the use of posters alluding to the musical scene developed in the city of Pontevedra. Inside we find a bench, essential module, especially significant of this daily space, element of rest, of waiting and a luminous advertising allusive in our heads. Modular space as a soundtrack in terms of the frequency and amplitude of electric waves, of music composed expressly for this space in a permanent and repetitive manner.
5 / A STRENGTH OF THE PENCILS. Luis Bernardo, Sergio Gonzalez, Felipe Langa, Enrique Mansilla and Maximiliano Martín.
A new street on Pontevedra Street. Or rather, the multiplication of an existing one. We refer to it, although a street is nothing other than the perception and enjoyment of it, to provide a support capable of showing it in multiple facets_ a language that arises from the reciprocity between routes and the improvement of them. There will be no movement without movement, and it is walking that activates the perception of the path of penis days. An alternative street and however coincident with the space that is experienced as a result of the movement and promotes it. Therefore, it is a rumor among the neighbors, something to talk about, that familiar street that for a moment offers a second look thanks to the interpretation among the walkers through a set of sieves and reflections. A look that involuntarily is involved and that impacts on a larger scale.
