The designer Javier Mariscal is among the winners of the National Prize of Culture 2011. It has also been awarded the team of Alfons López, Pepe Galvez and Joan Mundet comic category. This is an award two years ago delivered the Consell Nacional de la Cultura i de les Arts (CoNCA) under the Ministry of Culture of the Generalitat.
Mariscal has won the design category for "having succeeded in combining the personal and communication skills" in each project with a touch of humor and "visual and creative intelligence". The jury singled out his retrospective exhibition at La Pedrera and the "future project" with the premiere of his film, "Chico & Rita", made with director Fernando Trueba.
The team of Lopez, Mundet and Gàlvez has been awarded in the category of comic strip 'Miguel Nuñez. Thousand lives', a work which recovers part of the historical memory with intelligence and emotion".
The awards will be presented April 2 in the Palau de la Generalitat in a ceremony presided by the CoNCA Councilmen and President of the Generalitat, Artur Mas.
