Nike Free Flyknit in Shanghai

Wieden + Kennedy and Nike have done it again, thinking up an incredible way to present one of the Swoosh’s newest and most exciting designs to the public. That would be the Nike Free Flyknit, a sneaker that’s currently under construction on a massive billboard out in Shanghai. As you can see, the beginning stages of the installation feature a bare foot, one that’s currently being knitted all over by suspended workers in an effort to communicate the sneaker’s sock like quality. The revolution of Flyknit continues this summer with the Nike Free Flyknit Running Shoe, combining the second-skin fit of Flyknit construction and ultimate flexibility of Nike Free. To introduce this powerful combination of innovation to consumers in China, Nike and Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai developed a 10-day live installation on a prominent billboard in Shanghai. Over the course of the installation, the sock-like Free Flyknit was "knitted"–thread by thread—over a bare foot by four installation professionals, kitted out in the latest Nike gear. All this was captured via time-lapse to share this amazing event.
