André Rocha is a Portuguese artist with a great passion for drawing real or imagined cities. His work reflects both his career as an architect as his fascination for the surreal, his portfolio is basically a great collection of cityscapes and imaginary urban environments drawn with all the detail that the format allows him. The works of Andre Rocha create tensions between ultra-compact and large empty spaces. The balance between these two characteristics have been the basis of his most recent work.
The artworks by Andre Rocha are swinging between the real and the surreal, harmonize textures, urban environments, creating a world that wishes to be alive. His work is represented in private collections in countries like Portugal, Italy, UK, Australia and United States.
