We cannot forget, and we are grateful to, our readers.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
It's a time of special celebrations, and with them come greetings and best wishes from architects, designers, schools, studios, companies, offices, galleries, museums, photographers, and collaborators from all over the world!
Below, we have selected a collection of Christmas cards received this year (2025) (jpg and gifs), which we like to call "NAVIDALES" instead of "christmas."1 A selection of our favorites is presented below.
(1) "Navidal" is an old Spanish adjective, derived from Navidad (Christmas), and means related to Christmas. Its origin is in the Latin word natalis (related to birth), the same word from which Navidad (Christmas) comes.
In medieval Castilian, it was common to create adjectives with the suffix -al (estival, otoñal, pascual), and NAVIDAL arose through this same morphological mechanism. It is documented from the Middle Ages in literary and religious texts.
