Bárbara Pons.-
Bárbara Pons (born Valencia 1973) graduated from the School of Architecture of Valencia in 1999 and holds a Master in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She has practiced as an architect and over the last five years has specialized in landscape design and regional planning. She collaborated with landscape architect Arancha Muñoz working on policies affecting Valencia. Since 2007 she is General Director of Regional Planning of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, where she has developed regional plans and projects centered on places of unique interest, and has undertaken landscape studies in collaboration with national and international universities.
Her current challenge is to foster synergies between architecture, landscape design, ecology, and public policy ranging from the domestic scale, the traditional realm of the architect, to the large scale of territory. She has lectured at numerous conferences and seminars and has served as a guest critic on many international juries. Currently she is a PhD candidate at the Unesco Department of Territory and Environment of the Rey Juan Carlos University within the program of Environmental Sciences.
