"Position apparent" reflects on the relationship between scientific knowledge and European colonialism of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Research stems from a long distance that the artist has been making about the expeditions that took place during this time to different areas of the world to spot a solar eclipse. Specifically, Paloma Polo focuses on one of these expeditions, the one directed in 1919 by Sir Arthur Eddington to the African island of Príncipe for the first experiment that would find the General Theory of Relativity by Albert Einstein. The exhibition consists of a video, a selection of photographs and explanatory book.
