The collection of silk scarves, "Prototypes", is characterized by the inspiration in the architecture and life of London, reflecting the mosaic and voids of the city as well as the abstract elements that form it.

This project designed by INSITUCITY, is inspired by the city and the moment, taking as a design tool the map of London. The final objective that the study wants to achieve is the relationship between the individual and the city.
Description of the project by INSITUCITY
THE DESIGN
INSITUCITY launches its first collection “The prototypes”, a compilation of fine silk scarves based on the architecture and life of London. The collection is inspired by physical urban elements as infrastructures and streets as well as abstract elements as colours, tones and movements.
THE COLLECTION
INSITUCITY is a state of being, here and now. It is about the city and the moment that you live in.
As with the city´s dynamism, this collection captures the “zeitgeist”, a specific instant of your life, using the city map as a design tool. INSITUCITY is about your relation with the city.
THE FUNCTION
Each element from the collection varies in sizes & scale, implying different relations between you and the city. It is inspired by the city to be worn in the city.
THE MATERIAL
At INSITUCITY we take great pride in the process of scarves creation. We continuously research to understand the most innovative printing techniques, the finest natural fabrics, and the best handmade finishes. The entire production process is meticulously orchestrated to achieve the highest standards on a customized and unique product. Our silk originates from the finest Asian selection. It is carefully prepared and printed in Europe and finished by our skilled seamstress in Spain.

INSITUCITY.- Is a new London based studio focused on architecture & design. We draw on our background to synthesis beauty and project its intrinsic features across scales. Our work stems from the combination of distinct knowledge in refined materials, finishes and fine details along with the pursuit of provocative and exciting designs. We believe in the importance of the creative process in achieving interesting results.
Debora Mateo founded INSITUCITY in 2016 as an urban laboratory of fashion and design. She has built a rich international professional background as an architect working for OMA and Heatherwick Studio, two outstanding architectural firms of the contemporary scene.
