The 280 m² project designed by Estudio MMX subdivides the program into several volumetric components. These volumes are different from each other thanks to the formal characteristics that compose them but are always articulated and unified with each other by the interplay of relationships that occurs between them.
Each volume responds to a specific function, as a consequence the geometries and scale are diverse. The openings generated help the configuration and relationship between them to occur harmoniously and with a continuous flow.

Description of project by Estudio MMX
For this project Estudio MMX proposes a design that responds to a highly fragmented urban context, where the geometry of surrounding buildings creates an uneven landscape in terms of shapes and colors.
The proposal recognizes and adopts that logic of the context, replicating it within the plot and subdivides the programme into different volumes. Each space responds to its own needs and is part of a set of articulated units.
A house is not necessarily a generic container that can be subdivided to shape the different living spaces; in this project the architects recede from that idea in order to explore the possibilities of accommodation offered by a strategy that features independent units with varying characteristics, without the limitations of an ideal design within the complex.
Each space inside the house has its own function, and therefore a unique, specific geometry and scale. Each volume adopts its own scale and its openings arise as a direct result of the activities it holds. The house is formed by the addition of multiple autonomous but articulated volumes, the global identity of the project is a result of the relationships between these volumes and the open spaces surrounding them.
