Arquitopía is an exhibition on the work of Sergio Femar, responding to an action call made by ART U READY. The exhibition emphasizes the need to acquire a greater awareness for sustainability in the architecture environment, with a special focus on the waste generated.

Sergio Femar uses these elements in a transformative action; his work relives the rubble to give them another life thanks to the interdisciplinary and intuitive exploration of the materials. The whole of his work oscillates between the flexible and the static, the minimalist and the expressionist, the unpolluted and the neglected. In this way it maintains a constant tension between the different elements that make up the work.
In Arquitopía, the pieces of metal, cardboard, fabrics, wood blocks and construction debris are transformed into interesting compositions that inspire us and at the same time invite us to reflect on where the waste that has no use will stop.

The exhibition defends that the buildings should not only be a simple refuge. It look for an ethic of the built, where the buildings are greener, smarter, friendlier, more efficient, more sustainable and more adaptable to the people who live in them. It also claims what is necessary to build with more awareness of sustainability by reducing the spills derived. As a fact, only in Madrid and in a year, the volume of waste from construction could fill ten stadiums such as the Santiago Bernabéu.
