Koki Nakano shows us a brilliant composition and choreography, with dancers in an incredible natural setting, in the Negev desert, in southern Israel. The dancers' bodies show their relationship with gravity by playing with the structure, light and shadows of a concrete sculpture made by the Israeli artist Dani Caravan.

A video directed by Benjamin Seroussi.-

For this video Koki wanted to work with members of the famous Batsheva dance company based in Tel Aviv.

I immediately thought of Imre Van Ospal as I have been wanting to shoot something with her for a very long time.

She is an amazing dancer and choreographer. Koki and I both wanted a duo for the track Faire Le Poirier.

Imre chose to work with Ben Green from Las Vegas. Imre is from the Netherlands. And I love how international this project is!

I developed with my director of photography Christophe Guyon all kinds of shooting tools to work with and create an interesting dialogue between the camera and the dancers.

I shared these video tests with Imre so she could come with ideas to use them. This was also the way I worked with this amazing location in the Negev desert. It is a cement sculpture made by Israeli artist Dani Caravan. Imre came up with all kinds of ways to use this space with Ben and play with the structure, the shadows.
Late one afternoon, a group of young women dressed in colourful clothes are doing headstands, with very slow movements,on some rocks by the sea in Brittany. It comes across as a moderate, peaceful resistance to our usual gravity.
