The portrait is one of the central disciplines of art and the topic of the next exhibition at 100 kubik –Raum für spanische Kunst, which takes place from 24th February - 4th April. The exhibition covers the work of contemporary artists who have dedicated part of their production to the portrait, like Antonio Saura and Equipo Crónica (Manolo Valdés and Rafaek Solbes), Salustiano, Victor Dolz, Moises Yagües, Raquel Muñoz and the duo Peyrotau & Sediles.

If the picture is centered in the memory of the portrayed person, in its personality and in capuring a particular moment of its life, in this exhibition the presented works are also interpretations of portraits or artists of the Spanish history and will show a surprising point of view on familiar topics.

100kubik- Raum für spanische Kunst is the only space exclusively dedicated to Spanish art in Germany, located in Cologne, in the central Belgian Quarter. Its aim is to build a bridge of access for Spanish art to the audience and in the German market, after finding the presence of Spanish artists in this country clearly insufficient compared to other nationalities.
