U.K. firm John McAslan + Partners led the team that restored Port-au-Prince's historic Iron Market. Enclosing an eclectic bazaar, the structure, built in France and originally intended to become a train station in Cairo before being erected in Haiti in 1891, suffered severe damage during the 2010 earthquake.
Not all bad news from sadly neglected Haiti. Here we bring a video about one its monuments, social icon, a market restored, thanks to international aid, opened a year ago (January 2011). Restored by John McAslan + Partners.
