La Casa Encendida from Montemadrid Foundation has received the Medal of Honor awarded annually by the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, after the academic Luis de Pablos, Juan Bordes and Serraller submit his candidacy. Congratulations!

As explained by the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, La Casa Encendida, which opened in 2002, "has been able to consolidate and define specific content and a differentiated strategies within the broad cultural offer of Madrid". In addition, they emphasize their status as "benchmark" for the diversity and quality of its many activities and its character "dynamic and innovative" to be worthy of the Medal of Honor.
La Casa Encendida is a space that "exceeded" the definition of cultural center, creating its "own identity" in which a range of activities focused on education, solidarity, environment and culture are offered, and encouraging the creation, dissemination, understanding and citizen participation.
These medals, which were presented for the first time in 1943, reward the work of a person or institution that has outstandingly distinguished its way in the study, promotion and dissemination of the arts, artistic creation or protection of historical , natural and cultural heritage.
