Barcelona, 22 July 2014.- The Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura of Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (ESARQ-UIC) has inaugurated an exhibition in the Oval room of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya consist in 31 projects centrated in Montcada i Reixac area. The projects main objective is to make a reflexion about the transformation of the city. The authors, ESARQ-UIC students, that have studied the territory and analyze the innovate proposals, directed by the architects Alberto Estévez, Miquel Lacasta and Juan Trias de Bes and with technical collaboration from different administrations. The exhibition will be opened until 29 July.
The exhibition is structured around three workshops:
1- MONTCADA VÒRTEX:
Probably geological difficulty is the origin of the current status of this area in which more than 500 meters wide coexist in the basin of the Besós river, the autopist AP-7 (main artery connecting the north and France), two railroads unfolded (one for AVE), the NII road, and in the middle of this infrastructure, the township of Montcada i Reixac. Projects submitted proposing to build a conceptual image of Montcada as VÓRTICE, as a place of centrality and flow that configures a space of opportunity to convene a long-range strategic opportunity. The projects presented, have worked with the concept of landscape as infrastructure.

2- CATALYSTS:
In the workshop, the teams create concatenated projects to complete a natural ring road, nowadays disable by the railway line, which would be drawn by the connection between the riverfront and the northern fringe of Vallbona hill. The workshop proposes a new concept of Urban Agriculture as a compendium of interventions that propose urban and productive landscapes through the incorporation of nature into the city.

3- BUILDINGS RACE:
The ADN of the building, we could also said "his soul", or "deeper" part of itself, has to be clear in the mind of the creator.
