The theme of the exhibition "Parar la fresca" is defined as the custom of taking the chair out to the terrace or the street when the sun goes down, to take a nap under the breeze, the noise of nature and the sun, But if it turns out that one cannot easily fall asleep, that is where the second part "Estar a la lluna" comes into play, which is defined as daydreaming or being distracted.
Description by Bombon Projects, NoguerasBlanchard and Galería Joan Prats
The three contemporary art galleries Bombon Projects, NoguerasBlanchard and Galería Joan Prats present their first joint project in Fonteta, Ampurdán where the exhibition “Parar la fresco” is shown with renowned artists of contemporary art.
This project joins the offshoring phenomenon marked by internationally renowned galleries, Hauser & Wirth, Lévy Gorby Gallery and Pace Gallery, among others, to bring art closer to its collectors by opening temporary pop-ups and new relocated art spaces that are found in Menorca, Palm Beach, Aspen and Hamptons.
“You don't travel to see the circus, the circus travels to you and it is different in each place you visit. We are the new nomads, for the moment."
Dominique Lévy, co-founder of Levy Gorby Gallery.
The exhibition, conceived in two chapters (the first will open on June 19 and the second on August 7) brings together artists from the three galleries and different generations, in a proposal that starts from the Empordà concept Parar la Fresca (Take the fresco ), described by Josep Pla in the book “Las Horas” that brings together a careful selection of the work of contemporary artists: Joan Brossa, Hannah Collins, Anne-Lise Coste, Bernat Daviu, Enric Farrés Duran, Hernández Pijuan, Marine Hugonnier, Chema Madoz, Josep Maynou, Ana Mendieta, Jordi Mitjà, Perejaume, Wilfredo Prieto, Teresa Solar, Antoni Tàpies and Rosa Tharrats.
