AWARDS
Every two years:
- Pilar Juncosa & Sotheby’s Award
For an artistic project in the gardens of the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca. Worth €30,000.
- Pilar Juncosa Research Award
On Miró and his artistic and cultural milieu. Worth €6,000.
Every year:
- Pilar Juncosa Award for experimentation in the area of serially produced work
Worth €8,000, as well as holding an exhibition in one of the spaces of the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca.
- Pilar Juncosa Award for an Educational Project
Associated with the visual arts. It can either be related to the Foundation’s documentary and artistic resources or to any other aspect of contemporary creation. Worth €6,000.
GRANTS
- 4 training grants in collaboration with other artistic institutions:
A. 1 grant for residence, training and participation in The Slade School of Fine Arts, University College, London. The grant totals €3,000, plus the use of a studio and agreed access to workshops and/or courses programmed (see availability at: www.ucl.ac.uk/slade).
B. 1 grant for residence, training and participation in the Casa de Velázquez de Madrid. The grant totals €3,000, plus accommodation, use of one of the studios and participation in the programme of activities (see availability at: www.casadevelazquez.org).
C. 1 grant to attend a freely chosen centre that promotes the creative dynamic in the world today, in order to carry out a creative project related to serially produced work. This grant totals €3,000.
D. 1 grant for one of the winners of the Certamen de Arte Gráfico para Jóvenes Creadores (Graphic Art Competition for Young Artists) organised by Calcografía Nacional (the Spanish Institute of Chalcography), the Real Casa de la Moneda (the Royal Mint), the CEIM Foundation and the Madrid Association of Graphic Art and Paper Businesses. This grant provides free enrolment and up to €1,500 expenses to attend the yearly courses organised by the FPJM’s graphic art workshops (see the rules for application at: www.fundacióncasadelamoneda.org).
- 2 Pilar Juncosa Grants in Training, Experimentation and Creation in the Miró graphic art workshops: These grants consist of free enrolment for one of the graphic art courses programmed by the FPJM, as well as travel expenses of up to €1,500 € (see the programme at: http://miro.palma.cat).
- 5 grants to take part in the “Suplantaciones” artistic project curated by Jaume Simó Sabater Garau, with the participation, during a three-day symposium, of artists and thinkers investigating the concept of suplantación (supplanting). These grants total €600 each. (More information at: http://miro.palma.cat).
Our aim is for these awards and grants to be an efficient way of achieving these goals and of connecting proposals with contemporary sensibilities at a national and international level.
