The next exhibition which will host the ICO Museum in Madrid will be "RCR Arquitectes. Shared Creativity" and will show the 25 year career of Catalan Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta, head of architectural RCR Arquitectes.

Among the works that are in this new exhibition 2016 in ICO Museum is the Soulages museum in Rodez (France) by RCR Arquitectes received last October 28 the First Prize in the PAEI Awards (Spanish Architecture Prize International 2015), in the form of architecture, awarded by the Superior Council of Colleges of Architects of Spain.

RCR creates telluric architecture which seems to be ejected by volcanoes around Olot. Made with materials of great expressiveness (Corten steel, natural stone deckle, concrete, large glass surfaces ...), its buildings blend into the landscape in which it sits, dematerializing the boundaries between interior and exterior for greater communion of their residents with nature. Models, sketches, various construction elements used in its buildings and audiovisual constitute part of the materials that make up this exhibition. Including drawings, sketches and watercolors play a major role in the project phases and realization of their buildings.

"This is the first exhibition of the three that will house the ICO Museum throughout the year 2016. We are confident that arouse much interest as those of previous years, as it is one of the Spanish architecture studies and most prestigious international projection. With 'RCR Arquitectes. Shared creativity' from ICO Museum, we continue to bring the whole of society the current Spanish architecture, which this year will pivot between Catalonia and Andalusia, where from October we will bring the work by Cruz y Ortiz from Seville", said Mónica de Linos, Fundación ICO director.

The exhibition at ICO Museum "RCR Arquitectes. Shared Creativity " is the fusion of the exhibitions, "RCR Arquitectes. Shared creativity" (Palau Robert, from 26 March to 13 September 2015, with over 70,000 visitors) and "RCR Arquitectes. Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta, work together since 1988 under the name RCR ARQUITECTES in Olot. They are Premio Nacional de Cultura en Arquitectura 2005 by Generalitat de Catalunya, Chevaliers de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by Republique Française in 2008, honorary members by the AIA American Institute of Architecture 2010 and International Award 2011 "Belgian Building Awards". Since 1989 are architects advisors at Parque Natural de la Zona Volcánica de la Garrotxa and have been teachers of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture and Project. They have won different international competitions (the latter, the Waalsekrook media library in Belgium, the Soulages museum in France, Hofheide's crematorium in Belgium and The Edge Bussiness Bay in Dubai). They have received awards in his work among which two finalists positions in the awards of the European Union Mies Van der Rohe. Some of their awarded works have been exhibited in different events and published in several monographs.

RCR has shown the ability to think and transform that bring teamwork and the promotion of cultural initiatives from Bunka Foundation and workshops within the LAB-A in the Espacio Barberí, and have proven that it is possible to do international architecture from a rural environment, which is what has stimulated his imagination.

Following the work of RCR there is a philosophy which works for harmony between humans and nature. The most advanced technologies and materials such as steel or glass, with established rhythms and light that acts in opposition to each, are those that allow RCR this return to the essence of space that is the subject of architecture.
