Oceans Rise is the second single from the EP "Rise and Fall" by the German indie-pop band Lionlion. The conceptualization of the music video was carried out by twin brothers Michael Rückert and Matthias Rückert, vocalists and leaders of the band; the production and direction were in charge of the visual artist, Fabian Willi Simon.

The video recounts the duality that a character experiences when confronting himself, this protagonist is played by the Rückert twins, who act out the different conflicts in the main story. Characterized by a wardrobe in pure colors, orange, and white, the singers are always in contrast to the setting of the visual narration.

The main locations for the video are in Germany; part of the filming is the Pescher House, by Austrian architect Richard Neutra, located in Wuppertal; the stairs of the Staatstheater building in Darmstadt; as well as a traditional public swimming pool in Frankfurt. The coast of Mallorca in Spain is also featured in the video to represent the natural landscape.
The video for the song Oceans Rise, by the German band Lionlion uses the architecture of the 60s to project a modern domestic life. Neutra's work is the ideal scenography to set the home of the protagonist, who longs for a change of perspective, wants to immerse himself in a world of nature, abandoning the lifestyle projected by the house.

An outdoor swimming pool becomes a vast ocean, the stately stairs of the Staatstheater Darmstadt transform into the peak of a coastal mountain and the Pescher House itself becomes a rocky crag; These analogies are used to show the desire of the main character: a constant déjà vu where the architecture recalls the moving nature.

According to the German band, the lyrics of the song are about changing perspective, a feeling that can be driven by memories, in this case, the force of the ocean causes mental barriers to be broken to seek new horizons.

Lyrics.-
Oceans rise
Oceans rise & fall

I am trapped in a maze of melodies, straying round in my head
Deja vu, i’m lost with barriers bending over
I hear walls of sound in hi-fi, leaving me brain dead
There’s no way out of my mind
I am adrift in a sea of memories, swimming round in my head
Deja vu, i daydream and the ocean’s roaring
I feel towering waves of water, k!lling me stone dead
Over board, out of control
Dead or alive?

When the oceans rise, never compromise your life
Release my mind

Still in the midst of melodies, lo-fi, flying round in my heart
Deja vu, i daydream, and the seas are swelling
I see the oceans break down, sci-fi, let me restart
I wanna wake up, regain control and come alive
When the oceans rise, never compromise your life
Release my mind

Oceans rise
Oceans rise & fall

When the oceans rise, never compromise your life
When the oceans rise, never compromise your life
And when the barriers rise, never compromise your life
Release my mind
