Streb. London, One Extraordinary Day

A performance of power, daring and beauty that totally disarmed those lucky enough to see it, leaving them gasping in disbelief. The event is a one-off creation by Streb, who is the pioneer of ‘extreme action’ and known to many as the Evel Knievel of dance. Streb and her company push the human body to the boundaries of the possible, creating daredevil feats of extreme athleticism, positioned somewhere between dance, free-running, gymnastics and circus.

Streb is an event on a scale never before seen in England, thrilling spectators not only locally but across the planet, as the gaze of the world’s media intensifies its focus on the city as it hosts the 2012 Games.

A one-day performance, took place at iconic locations around London. The Millennium Bridge, the City Hall, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, the National Theatre and the London Eye were the chosen places to perform the events.

Streb has been commissioned by the Mayor of London and the London 2012 Festival, with funding from Arts Council England, the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and the National Lottery.
