On the occasion of the International Day of Architecture, Madrid is filled with events promoted by institutions and private entities. Among them is the exhibition "Modern Madrid", by Luis Asín, at the MINIM gallery (Paseo de la Castellana, 92). The exhibition is open to the public until October 26.

The exhibition is dedicated to the vision of one of the best-known photographers of the Spanish capital, Luis Asín, presenting a tour of contemporary architecture in Madrid.

The exhibition presents a selection of spaces and buildings photographed by Luis Asín, showing and exploring buildings and emblematic places ranging from the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela to the Instituto del Patrimonio Cultural de España, passing through the emblematic Torres Blancas and the Pabellón de los Hexágonos.

«I remember going in my parents' car on the Barcelona highway as a child, and seeing how this icon of Sáenz de Oíza was built; it seemed like science fiction to me, almost straight out of a Stanley Kubrick film. Now I think it is a building that, as the years go by, becomes more and more modern, and it is difficult not to be struck by it as you pass the highway entering the city. Torres Blancas has become a beacon of welcome to Madrid».

The exhibition offers unique views of Madrid's buildings, unusual angles, unique perspectives or details that often go unnoticed. Luis Asín shows us reference works by architects such as Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oíza, Fernando Higueras, Rafael de La-Hoz, Miguel Fisac, Antonio Palacios, José María García de Paredes, Luis Martínez-Feduchi, Luis Gutiérrez Soto, the duo of Corrales and Molezún and the duo of Arniches and Domínguez.

"With this exhibition, I have had the opportunity to photograph architecture as I like. With total freedom, like a walker, without tripods or the constraint of fulfilling an objective for a report".
