Scraped on the ground, like a rock, the painting workshop of Felipe Assadi and Francisca Pulido is located near Los Vilos-Coquimba, Chile.

The intimate painting workshop is located next to the house "Casa en Bahía Azul", also designed by Felipe Assadi Arquitectos.

Concrete and Glass stand out in a construction that opens frontally to the sea and also presents openings in the top to nourish the wall by zenithal lighting establishing a small painting sanctuary, a cave that serves like a shelter from other buildings in Bahía Azul.

Project description by Felipe Assadi Arquitectos

On one side of the House in Bahía Azul we did the painting workshop, a small facility that from its access appears as an extension of the ground and from the clif stands out as a piece embedded in the hill.

The space, which is defined as the extension of its own span, finds itself between the sea and a small interior garden at its access, preceded by a narrow stairway carved into the rock, leaving the user "apart" from everything.

It is a small refuge from the rest of the buildings of this place to basically have a space with indirect zenith light to paint.

By the way, its rigidity and horizontality want to reinforce the diagonal lines of the main house.
