“POETIC AI” by Ouchhh, an exhibition with 20 million lines of text, at Atelier des Lumières in Paris

The new media agency 'OUCHHH' has created a special poetic interpretation of AI. The result is a poetic, emotional and immersive experience, which can be seen continuously in LE STUDIO, inside an old foundry, now converted into an art room, known as Atelier des Lumières, until August 31, 2018.

Ouchhh created an Artificial Intelligence and the t-SNE visualization of the hundreds of books and articles [approx. 20 million lines of text] written by scientists who changed the destiny of the world -and wrote history- were fed to the Recurrent Neural Network during the training. This, later on, was used to generate novel text in the exhibition.

136 projectors shining to be a veritable oneiric experience, the ‘POETIC – AI’ digital installation uses Artificial Intelligence in the visual creation process: the forms, light, and movement are generated by an algorithm that creates a unique and contemplative digital work, an AI dancing in the dark, trying to show us connections we could never see otherwise.

OUCHHH, a digital creation studio based in Istanbul, Los Angeles, and London. Their interdisciplinary expertise in graphic design, motion design, and monumental digital projections has been recognised with many prizes in the Digital Arts world (ARS ELECTRNICA, Linz, Austria) and lately by the prestigious RED DOT Award (Germany), an award for their work in digital design. Their last digital retrospective was held at Washington’s ARTECHOUSE in January 2017.

Their approach to Artificial Intelligence provokes reflection about contemporary artistic works.
