Description of the project by Martín-Peláez
The history of this project is a bit special.
A couple, C and R, decided to buy a penthouse in a new housing block through a real estate agencyin a Madrid area. However, they were not fully convinced of the spatial arrangement so they decided to commission us to design a new proposal.
From the beginning they wanted a house that could be changed depending on their daily needs as well as adapted to the future growth of the family.
The project proposes a technical central core made up of a bathroom, a toilet and a kitchen, in the house central area. It would belike and island with the rest of the spaces moving around. Standard partitions by movable elements (sliding doors and partition walls) that appear and disappear as needed are discarded.
Thus the 13 original project partitions become 7 while the 8 doors become 4 reducing costs and work runtimes.
A house based on centripetal concept asuses organization. It is clearly proposed aday area and a night area separated by the central technical core. In any case, they are physically and visually communicated.
Its open condition in different orientations allows optimum performance from the energy point of view.
All the plans involved in the construction house scenes are stained white, creating a neutral image of large diaphanous spaces still to be used.
