Can you imagine a city where skyscrapers are made out of recycled waste, and instead of needing to be maintained, they grow organically with time? While this may sound like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, it's actually a real life proposal from Paris-based architecture firm Agence Chartier Corbasson. The city they've proposed this for? London, naturally.
Thomas Corbasson and Karine Chartier, the two creative heads behind the now several dozen people strong practice, are perhaps best known for projects such as the Musée Paul -Belmondo, a museum devoted to the work of sculptor Paul Belmondo and sculptures of the 20th century, which was awarded the national prize for wood construction. Their proposal for the organic, self-growing skyscraper is therefore one of their more imaginative proposals, one they are currently looking to find investors for.
