Description of project by AGi architects
The concept of Villa Archipiélago was born from the idea of living the house in an independent way for each of the inhabitants. A young family with teenage daughters. The home has been organized into independent islands, each with its own character and function. At the same time, each island establishes a unique relationship with its own garden and connects with the other rooms through the common spaces that link them naturally.
All islands visually connect the garden that surrounds them on the outer perimeter. In addition, they face a central atrium. These visual connections are one of the main ideas that articulate the design of the house.
Thus, from the aromatic garden, located next to the entrance of the house, you can see the large atrium occupied in its center by an infinity pool, located in front of the living room. All islands maintain these interior-exterior relationships between themselves and with open spaces. In this way, the house flows, opens and relates to the outside, while maintaining its autonomy and privacy.

Another of the fundamental axes of the project has been the design of the roof, large flights that shelter all the islands, providing them with unity and shade. With it, the archipelago closes. This ceramic roof has a great visual presence, becoming a horizontal ribbon that surrounds everything, floating over the house.
The set is completed with three large skylights that provide spaciousness and additional natural light in key spaces of the home.
Program
Access to the house is through an aromatic garden, next to which the family island is located, which has a closed dining room, a large living room and an open kitchen. On the other side of the access is the island designed for the daughters, which has three large bedrooms. Due to their plant organization, they enjoy a lot of privacy. In connection with this island is the private island, dedicated to parents. It features a bedroom with a large dressing room and large bathroom, which opens to a large private garden with a tropical accent.
The islands surround a large open atrium that, on two sides, is surrounded by gardens. A large pool dominates this space and connects to an outdoor kitchen and dining area.
