Exploring emerging forms of cooperation and imagining alternatives for contemporary urban life, the Lisbon Architecture Triennale, curated by Ann-Sofi Rönnskog and John Palmesino, featured three days of lectures at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, three award ceremonies, and some twenty independent projects.
Bringing together leading figures from architecture, science, and activism, the public program of this seventh edition delved into the concept of "weight," a central element of the Triennale. While the main celebration has concluded, as a culmination of this initiative, its three main exhibitions will be on view throughout the holidays.
At the MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, the exhibition “Fluxes” examines the flows of energy, materials, and data that sustain humanity (until January 19, 2026).
At the MUDE – Museum of Design, “Spectres” explores how colonialism, power, and extraction shape the way we see and imagine our built environment (until January 11, 2026).
Finally, at the MAC/CCB – Museum of Contemporary Art and Architecture Center, the exhibition “Lighter” offers alternative visions for a world on the brink of a planetary crisis. Until January 4, 2026.
Once again, this triennial celebration has transformed the city of Lisbon into a meeting place for dialogue, sharing, and experimentation. Following its seventh edition, the Lisbon Architecture Triennale has announced that Joaquim Moreno will be the general curator of its next edition, scheduled for autumn 2028.
