The building, designed by CARTA., unfolds across two levels articulated beneath a large gabled roof. In terms of its layout, the reception and waiting areas face south to maximize sunlight, while the clinical spaces are located to the north, benefiting from views of the surrounding vegetation.
The project features a foundation slab without a basement to minimize alterations to the topography and, at the same time, preserve the existing forest canopy. The building envelope combines natural cedar, stone, and metal—durable materials associated with the Nordic climate. Meanwhile, the eaves protect the exterior circulation areas from the elements, while the glazed surfaces enhance the entry of natural light and establish a direct connection between the interior and the landscape.

Located in Val-David, a picturesque community in the Laurentians region 80 kilometers north of Montreal, this new dental and implantology clinic is housed in a unique and sustainable building. The two-story project includes a dedicated retail space and was designed to reflect the village's renowned artistic spirit and rugged natural beauty.
Situated on land surrounded by dense Nordic vegetation, the Des Cimes Dental Clinic was designed to preserve the existing forest canopy and respect the site's natural constraints. By opting for a foundation-based slab construction without a basement, the project minimized its impact on the local topography.
The building's architecture reflects a desire to integrate seamlessly into the landscape. Natural cedar, stone, and metal evoke the emblematic materials of the Nordic climate. The large gabled roof, integrated into the landscape like a vault, and the articulated volumes allow vegetation to intertwine harmoniously around the structure. The expansive, projecting dormer windows, nestled alongside the tree line, reinforce the connection with the natural surroundings, while the generous eaves shelter the pedestrian walkways, creating comfortable and protected areas. Finally, the shop windows display local artwork, paying homage to Val-David's vibrant artistic identity. Inside, the spaces are organized around light and views: the reception and waiting areas face south to maximize sunlight, while the treatment rooms face north, offering a tranquil, verdant environment for patients. This clinic embodies a person-centered, compassionate, and sustainable approach, perfectly in tune with the unique spirit of the Val-David municipality.
