The Hungarian Pavilion for the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale presents a “forest” of white architectural models as a tribute to this important subject within the profession.

With an understanding that the model is where an architectural concept is first realized, the exhibition creates “sacred atmosphere” by placing 500 student fabricated models on top a pedestal.

The scale building mock-up plays an important role in the education of architecture by interpreting all directions in space and carrying a higher regard for information throughout the context of each physical composition.

The floor of the pavilion is covered with artistically arranged pebbles of different sizes. This space-structuring underlay, together with the models floating on the stands, and the white, membrane-like ceiling under the glass roof create a peculiar, almost sacred atmosphere.

Design group Spacemaker has conceived this idea to represent the complexity involved in the creation process between concept and reality. As a result the experience and joy of cooperative work, becomes elevated. By arranging the models in an orderly format, the exhibit demonstrates the minimal fundamental principals in the implementation stages of design process.
