Navid Maqami, John Clifford. S9 Architecture

S9 Architecture. Architecture firm based in New York, founded by John Clifford and Navid Maqami and now led by John Clifford, Paul Carr, Younsung Chung, Sital Patel and Dryden Razook, which believes each design solution is informed by programmatic, physical, environmental, economic and contextual forces, rejecting pre-conceived ideas and stylistic preoccupations. With a design approach rooted in modern contextualism and inspired by urban narratives, S9 Architecture’s works include residential, mixed and adaptive reuse projects. Among them are 205 Water Street in Brooklyn (2012), 160 East 22nd Street in Manhattan (2014) and Ponce City Market in Atlanta (2015). Currently under construction in New York City are The New York Wheel, Empire Stores and 606 Broadway, all expected to be completed by 2018.
