The architecture studio Jaime Prous Architects has developed the project for a single-family house located in La Pineda, the newest sector of the PGA Catalunya Resort in the town of Caldes de Malavella in Girona.
The plot is located near hole 7 of the Stadium Course, in a quiet area with rich vegetation a few meters from the Club House. That is why the house explores more relaxed ways of living with nature.

The 300 m² project designed by Jaime Prous Architects compresses the living space between the horizontal planes, that of the roof, and that of the ground, where the retaining walls blend with the color of clay and penetrate the interior.
The architecture of this house creates an infinite space in a finite space. The project blurs and creates no difference between exterior and interior, all through the use of a sequence of patios and reflections.

The pronounced difference of levels and the topographic integration are the starting points of the house, embedded into the terrain; the concrete roof is the only facade to the street.
To access the house, it is necessary to get into the ground: the retaining walls merge with the color of the clay and penetrate the interior. Above the inhabitants, the slab, weightless and supported by the delicate glass envelope, levitates. Ahead, a kaleidoscope of reflections where the green of the landscape can be seen.
The space is compressed between the horizontal planes of the roof and the ground. Inside, the architecture creates an infinite space in a finite space: with a sequence of patios and reflections, the dwelling introduces the exterior in the interior in a literal way, confusing the user, who no longer knows whether he/she is inside or outside.
Nothing defines a room from another one in an accurate way, there are no doors or walls as they are usually understood, only five dark boxes apparently randomly arranged.
The sophistication of the slab contrasts with the roughness of the walls. The fluidity of the spaces, with the impenetrability of the boxes. The house explores more relaxed forms of dwelling in relation to nature without renouncing the comfort that technology offers.

Jaime Prous. Architect since 2006 by the Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona. He began his career in the Barcelona office of Francisco and Damián Ribas. Until today he has carried out outstanding works from residential to sports equipment. He has always combined the practice of the project with research and teaching. He is currently a professor of Technology at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura Vallés. Passionate about traveling, he impregnates his works with foreign influences, embodying his own personality.
