In northern Spain, in the city of Logroño, Swiss architecture studio Leopold Banchini Architects proposes "Round About Baths," a temporary oasis in the heart of the Plaza Salón urban roundabout, as part of Concéntrico - Logroño International Architecture and Design Festival 2025.

Roundabouts, a kind of non-place where endless cars spin endlessly amidst the hectic pace of everyday life, become the setting for a temporary public restroom, an impossible space of paradise in the middle of the city.

Leopold Banchini Architects presents a welcoming, accessible, and functional space for Concéntrico that promotes well-being by inviting relaxation. Using recycled materials and alternative construction methods, "Round About Baths" prioritizes authenticity and aesthetic simplicity.

A simple and straightforward modular wooden structure combines a temporary program of changing rooms, steam rooms, and an open-air pool, offering a refuge in direct contrast to the frenetic pace of the city.

The space becomes a meeting point, a place where people interact with each other and with the space; a space capable of encompassing time, movement, and memory, which, at the same time, is a place for rest, relaxation, and reflection, revealing the hidden potential of the urban environment typically dominated by cars and transforming the perception of these forgotten spaces.

"Round About Baths" transforms an impersonal and inaccessible fountain, caught in the center of the maelstrom of vehicular traffic, into an intimate, reflective, and communal experience, where bodies meet water.

User Manual
The bath is organized in 45-minute sessions. Capacity is limited and controlled by shifts. Each person must bring their own towel and wear a swimsuit. The experience begins in the hot steam room and continues outside, where you can rest and cool off in the cold water basins.

The changing room is shared, with separate spaces on either side of the entrance. Personal belongings are stored in individual bags, guarded by staff during the session.
