Jaime Sepulcre Bernad's architecture studio has developed the renovation project for the GW house, located in Madrid. The design proposal had the objective of relocating the living room and turning it into the articulating space of the house.
This is achieved thanks to the new characterization of the living room, where a large open space, intended for the public areas of the house, makes the living room an open and welcoming area for the enjoyment of the inhabitants.

The project of Jaime Sepulcre Arquitecturas generates a space dedicated to the arrival and circulation lobby that works fluidly. This is achieved thanks to the implementation of curved walls that zoned and dynamically direct the space of the house.
In this way, the more private areas are concentrated behind the curved walls. Giving them greater privacy and intimacy, whose main piece is a central curved glass shower.

Description of project by Jaime Sepulcre Arquitecturas
The idea of this reform was, on the one hand, to relocate the living room and turn it into the heart of the house along with the kitchen and dining room, generating a single large common space that would open completely to the garden and, on the other hand, generate a vestibular space of arrival and circulation, that will work in a very fluid way.
Both ideas are formalized with a set of curved walls that, in the case of the large common space, zoning their various functionalities and, in the case of the lobby, gently and dynamically direct towards the bedrooms located at the ends or towards that main space of the house in the center.
Finally, the master bedroom has also been conceived as a unique space whose protagonist is a central piece of curved glass shower.

Jaime Sepulcre Bernad was born in Elche (Alicante), Spain, on June 21th, 1972. Architect by the Higher Technical School of Architecture University of Navarra (Pamplona), with Extraordinary End of Career Award. 1998 3rd National Award for Completion of University Studies. 2004 Doctor Architect with the Thesis on Modern Spanish Architecture entitled "César Ortiz-Echagüe and Rafael Echaide: Technification and humanization of functionalism". 2006-2015 Associate Professor at the Polytechnic School of the University of Alicante, in Architectural Projects I, II, III, IV and PFC. 2003-2005 Associate Professor at ETSAUN, in Projects II (with Miguel Ángel Alonso del Val). 1997-2003 Assistant Professor at ETSAUN, Composition Elements, Projects I and II (with Juan Miguel Otxotorena, Patxi Mangado and M. Alonso del Val). 2005 Established in Elche and founded his studio from which he develops his work today.
