The firm ESTUDIO CO-A has designed a street restaurant of Asian food Jatachi, in Castelldefels. A restaurant that seeks to "put the street into the interior" by decorating it with an urban stamp.
ESTUDIO CO-A achieves this idea of a street restaurant thanks to the use of materials seen as a neutral background on which the logo is repeatedly placed. The bar stands out for its central location in the space and for the zenithal lighting on it, which incites you to sit down and share the experience.

Description of project by ESTUDIO CO–A

Faced with the leitmotiv "asian street food" we seek to enter the street into the interior of the restaurant; both with the materials, lighting and furniture adopted in the interior design, and with the street art that inspires communication among the graphic designers of Pràctica design. The urban image enters the interior.

On the outside, the strategy is repeated, the metal sheet can be seen seen on which the logo stands out on a large scale, reiterated and arbitrarily, just like the tags we find on the streets.

The decision to adopt the materials seen (concrete, brick and iron) as finishes of the space is due to the desire to have a neutral background on which graphic designers will apply the logo repeatedly, making it stand out, just as it happens on the facades.

The same furniture is used in the interior as in the exterior, chairs and tables, always with this desire to enter the urban atmosphere inside.

As for the distribution, the central location of the bar and its zenithal lighting gives it a leading role in the space, where it is incited to sit down and share the experience, just as it happens in urban spaces.

Iron is the predominant material, present in the entrance door to the premises, in the bar and in the tables and chairs. It was decided to use the same material for the top of the bar as for the tables and thus always have the same background for the restaurant's dishes; a neutral background that makes the food stand out.

Estudio CO-A is a young architectural studio, led by Clara Ocaña, based in Barcelona, born from the long family experience in this professional practice. It deploys its interests in the fields of design, research, rehabilitation and architecture.

They usually work in collaboration with other professionals in the sector who can make their contributions to the project and as it is a small studio, the relationship between the client and the architect is continuous throughout the process, so they can control every detail until the end of the work.

They understand architecture as a tool to solve the problems raised in each project. They are concerned about aesthetics, sustainability and customer needs.

In their refurbishment and re-habitation projects, the old and the new are contrasted to reveal the historical depth of the place, the qualities of the spaces are enhanced, the original materials to be conserved and the new ones to be introduced are selected and a strategy is proposed for the optimisation of resources.
