The Forêt proposal of the Madrid studio Mecanismo, led by Marta Urtasun and Pedro Rica, which was the winning installation of the call to which more than 60 projects were submitted, is the result of the collaboration Concéntrico with the Métropole de Rouen Normandie and La Forêt Monumentale. The biennial of monumental art was inaugurated this Sunday in the French city.

The proposal of Mecanismo, aims to integrate the forest into the city and make an alert call to the current and radical separation between the natural and the artificial. The proposal opened this weekend and can be seen until October 20 in the neighborhood of Saint Sever, being the only urban piece of the biennial La Forêt Monumental.
“We have become accustomed to the fact that the natural and the artificial do not coexist. Nature and urban development often face separated by impassable boundaries. However, we believe that the city and the forest are compatible and both share organizational qualities that can make them complementary. ”
This proposal is completed with the Monumental Saint Sever exhibition that shows all the projects submitted to the international call and that can be visited at Maison de l’architecture de Normandie – le Forum until November 26.

Architecture studio mecanismo
mecanismo is the result of the combination of a profound interest in materials and care for the execution of projects, with the obsession for investigation and innovation of new concepts.
It is an architecture studio located in Madrid, founded by Marta Urtasun and Pedro Rica, two young architects with a dynamic and different vision of architecture and its processes, that have succeeded in achieving a unique and own line of work, directly associated to the importance of details and conceptual innovation. Today, integrated by a nurtured team of young professionals specialized in the design, development and execution of projects, systems and architectural products, mecanismo focuses its activity to edification and to singular design.
The work of mecanismo in the development of projects comprehends the control of the whole process, from the initial conceptualization to the design of the last detail; at every different stage of the project. This labor entails a precise coordination of everyone that intervenes at every phase and thorough control of the execution, and results in a coherent, harmonic and functional architecture.
