The Amann-Cánovas-Maruri studio (Atxu Amann, Andrés Cánovas y Nicolás Maruri) has shared with us images of this building a new cover protecting an assembly of archaeological thermal baths, forum and domus of molinete park in cartagena, spain.

Conceived as a transition element between very diverse urban conditions, the light polycarbonate structure seeks to seamlessly integrate the dense city centre to the sloping park while creating a continuous perception of the whole site.

The intervention unifies all the remains in a single space that allows a continuous perception of whole, and fragmented outside, to respond with a perceptual scale appropriate to the urban environment, both the city and the park of the windlass.

A pedestrian level element is presented with a faceted, partially visible, while from the top of the park, distance vision, recovers its unity and its volumetric importance. The cover also generates a new urban facade in the partition wall limiting the remains west hiding its presence by a folding of the structure.

Site plan.
