Danish architecture studio EFFEKT has completed the first walkway that runs through the Hamaren Activity Park in Fyresdal, next to Lake Fyresvatn, located southwest of the Norwegian capital. The project meanders through the park's treetops and ends at a circular gazebo where visitors can plug in for spectacular views of the lake.

The walkway is wrapped in a pine forest, a rock formation, and Fyresvatn Lake. Contact with nature allows users to live a unique experience touring the wooden infrastructure.
EFFEKT designed an elevated route accessible to anyone formed by a kilometer-long walkway that ends at the top of Klokkahamren Hill, forming an observation circle with a diameter of 50 meters that offers visitors magnificent views of the lake and the nearby surroundings.

The only material used to build the walkway is controlled felling wood, respecting nature and blending in with its surroundings. The walkway rises 15 meters above the ground and is made up of planks arranged along 1 km with a width of 2 meters, which allows a large space to easily navigate the park.

Project description by EFFEKT

Hamaren Activity Park is a public destination for outdoor experiences in nature, located in Fyresdal, at the heart of the Telemark region in Norway.

The addition to the park is a one-kilometer route enabling accessibility through the forest all the way to the summit of Klokkahamren.

The new infrastructure consists of a fully wooden boardwalk structure that overcomes the challenging terrain while respecting the existing biotops and nature.

The route is designed as a sequence of features that provides few micro-experiences, such as taking a rest while enjoying the deep forest natural setting, or enjoying the views from strategically located viewpoints.

The final feature is a 50-meter diameter circular viewpoint situated at the top of the hill offering panoramic views of the lake and surroundings.
