This edition, curated by Ander Bados and Miguel Ramón, is structured around five thematic axes representing the essential flows that shape our current society: materials, people, energy, data, and the environment. Their curatorial proposal, "Flujos Comunes," questions traditional approaches to architecture and how it adapts to the profound changes our society is undergoing. The edition recognizes and gives visibility to architectural practices that have redefined their role in a context marked by the constant interaction between the local and the global in recent years.
A specialized jury, chaired by the Secretary General of Urban Agenda, Housing, and Architecture of the MIVAU (Ministry of Housing and Urban Development), Iñaqui Carnicero, highlighted the proposals' ability to combine quality, innovation, and social sensitivity, addressing contemporary challenges with creative rigor. The selection process considered the capacity to express the values that articulate contemporary flows.
Works
The twenty award-winning projects in this edition demonstrate the current strength of contemporary architecture in Spain. Located across various regions (and also abroad), they showcase a mature and demanding practice, capable of combining innovation and craftsmanship with a sensitive understanding of the social, cultural, and environmental contexts in which they operate.
Beyond their technical and conceptual excellence, these projects embody the contemporary values that underpin "Flujos Comunes": materials, people, environment, data, and energy. Far from being rigid categories, these areas intertwine in many of the proposals, revealing architectures that address the complexity of the present and embrace the common good.
